A week in mid July is devoted to musicians and music lovers in Veszprém. Designed to appeal to a wide audience, this festival hosts world famous performers from abroad and popular groups from Hungary, as well as amateur artists.
Solo musicians and groups give their performances on small stages set up all over the town, or if they don't find a place in one of the venues, then on a street bench or upon a stone. Amongst other styles blues, jazz, ethno, rock, funk and, last but not least, classical music are all on the programme. The array of instruments ranges from the exotic to the traditional: guitars, djembe, bongos, violins, cellos, flutes, rattles, shakers, and other noise-making delights burst onto the otherwise quiet streets of this atmospheric little town throughout the festival.
